DeepSouth - Neuromorphic Compute Platform
A Western Sydney University-led, ARC-funded research infrastructure project to develop a reconfigurable neuromorphic compute system for brain-scale simulations.
Natalia Poliakova is publicly listed as a Partner Investigator on ARC grant LE230100034.
The Australian Research Council reports that the project deployed the world’s largest neuromorphic computing platform, using 92 Intel Stratix 10MX FPGAs to support 100 billion spiking neurons.

Mapped the opportunity, activated relevant Intel IoT stakeholders, secured support for technical training and a proof of concept, aligned systems-integration and research partners, and enabled the technology through to deployment.
Result
An Industry 4.0 solution progressed from partner collaboration and proof of concept to deployment in Australian gold-mine operations.
